Hello and welcome back to Diversishelf!
Before we get to the books, we’d like to introduce this month’s pick for the Diversishelf Nonfiction Book Club: It’s Not That Radical by Mikaela Loach.
It’s Not That Radical refuses the version of climate action we’re often given, the one that asks individuals to consume differently while corporations continue to extract, exploit, and destroy. Loach traces the crisis to its roots: racial capitalism, colonialism, and systems that treat both people and land as disposable. What emerges is a clear invitation to understand climate justice as inseparable from struggles against policing, borders, and economic inequality.
We hope you’ll join our readalong over on Storygraph - we will be aiming to read about 55 pages per week. See you there!
This issue is super chunky, so without further ado, here’s the books!
Some of these books contain sensitive themes. Please check content warnings before purchasing and reading these titles.
