Hello and welcome back to Diversishelf!
I am chuffed to announce that, in recognition of U.S. Black History Month and in alignment with our values of anti-racism, abolition, and community-centered resistance, the February pick for the Nonfiction Book Club will be Black-Owned: The Revolutionary Life of the Black Bookstore by Char Adams.
Rooted in rigorous reporting and vivid storytelling, Black-Owned traces the radical history of Black-owned bookstores as sites of political education, organizing, and survival, from abolitionist print culture in the 19th century to contemporary movements for Black liberation. Read more and join us on our Storygraph Book Club!
You still have a couple weeks to source the book and join us. We hope to see you there!
